With 2025 now here, we need volunteers for the following board and key volunteer positions:
President-elect
President-elect steps in for the President when the president is not available including, but not limited to, overseeing board meetings, liasion to volunteers, and contributes to the overall leadership of the chapter. Time committment: While as needed, plan on 5 to 8 hours a month.
Blog Chair
Working with the Social Media Chair, the Blog Chair will create, manage, and update the blog; interview community members and liasions such as editors, publishers, and FF & P members. They will also write and manage updates, guest posts, and announcements. The Blog Chair will adhere to the content calendar by providing content several times a month on a regular basis. Time committment: 5 to 8 hours a month.
OTFS Chair
In this position, the OTFS Chair will oversee the yearly On The Far Side contest. This includes, but is not limited to, organizing and promoting the contest to encourage participation, ensuring submissions adhere to contest criteria and rules, selecting and overseeing judges, managing the scoring process to uphold result integrity, and coordinating the announcement and distribution of awards and certificates to finalists and winners. Time committment: 5 to 8 hours a month but will increase during the contest period.
Workshop Chair
The Workshop Chair’s primary is to schedule, promote, and manage workshops. This includes keeping the workshop classes current, working with the Blog and Social Chairs on promotion, as well as promoting on FF & P’s mailing list, RWA General Member’s Forum, RWA eNotes, and RWR magazine. The Workshop Chair will also adhere to FF & P’s policies such as not repeating workshops over the course of the calendar year, maintaing related content such as craft and business related to writing.
