Please tell our readers a bit about yourself in 50 words or less.
I’m a former globe-trotting Army brat, now a retired federal agent and grandma who loves dirty-chai, PNR/Fantasy Romance, and travelling with my husband and two Australian shepherds.
What is your board position?
I co-chair the PRISM Contest with Fenley Grant.
Why did you choose to join the board?
Giving back to the writing community is important to me.
What are you hoping to get out of the board/chapter during your tenure?
I hope that between Fenley and me, we host a successful contest that helps grow the chapter.
What brought you to FF &P?
I came to FF&P through my love of the genres the chapters represent. I first joined in 2017 and have been an on-again-off-again member ever since.
What genres do you write?
I have a PNR series within a shared world and a psychic cozy mystery series as well.
Are you traditional, hybrid, or indie published? Why did you go this route?
I’m indie published. I chose this route to maintain control over my stories and how they are presented.
Do you have any odd/strange/fascinating rejection stories to share?
Other than waiting for over a year for a rejection after the editor requested the full manuscript, no. I forgot I had even sent the MS to the editor and just laughed when I received the rejection. Like, no kidding? But I suspect this is a fairly common story for most authors.
Name three of your favorite sci-fi or fantasy authors.
Ilona Andrews, Patricia Bridges, Coral Alejandra Moore.
If you could meet anyone, imaginary or real, in sci-fi or fantasy, who would it be and why?
I would love to sit down with Mary Shelley. What she did with Frankenstein was amazing!
You’re stranded on a desert island, and you can only have one book. Which book do you bring with you and why?
I’d have my big, combined Lord of the Rings trilogy. It may be falling apart, but I’m a sucker for a happy ending, a hero like Aragorn, and a heroine like Eowyn. While I have some issues with the way women were written in the story (like how Eowyn is ‘fixed’ of her desire to do great things by falling in love with Faramir *huge eyeroll*), I understand it’s a product of its time.
Tell us about your latest release(s) and what’s coming next for you.
My latest release was The Gargoyle Affair, my final book and number 12 in the shared Enchanted Rock Immortals PNR world; a story about endings, new beginnings and ensuring the ones who done you wrong get their just desserts, all with a HEA! Currently I’m working on a new PNR elemental series—consider Lord of the Rings meets Highlander (movie, not the series) meets The Last Airbender meets Stargate—to be released in January 2026.
