Please tell our readers a bit about yourself in 50 words or less:
I live at the New Jersey shore with my husband, two pampered St. Danes, and 4 regal cats. My background is varied and includes a degree in French and Spanish and a post-graduate degree in psychology.
Do you write full time or part-time?
I do not think that it really can be defined by either, but rather a combination. Creativity has no limitation in regards to any time frame. With my day job, I work full time and then devote my free time at lunch and breaks, after work, weekends, holidays, etc. to writing. As an indie author, I am dedicated to my writing as well as focused on the business end.
What brought you to FF &P?
I am also a member of the RWA and found your chapter listed there. After visiting your website, I felt that it would be the perfect group for my type of genre and for valuable information and connection to like-minded authors. People who think outside of the box and understand where and how the creative flow works, inspire and support the fiction community. Your chapter’s direction promotes that.
What genres do you write?
Currently, paranormal/fantasy romance.
Are you traditional, hybrid, or indie published? Why did you go this route?
I am an indie author. In the beginning, I found that many (not all) of the literary agents were not into this particular genre at that time, so I decided to venture out on my own. As an indie author, it is a delicate balance of where I am the creative director from the beginning to the end of my work, yet also being open enough to suggestions to improve. By being self-published, I have grown so much during the journey. I found this route to be more self-satisfying, enjoyable, and full of opportunities and discovery. In doing so, I have also met so many fantastic people along the way that I would never have had the chance to meet.
Name three of your favorite sci-fi or fantasy authors.
There are so many from past to contemporary. For me, I would say C. S. Lewis, Charlaine Harris, and Stephen King are top on my list.
If you could meet anyone, imaginary or real, in sci-fi or fantasy, who would it be and why?
I would say Stephen King. It would be fascinating to hear about his inspiration for his stories.
You’re stranded on a desert island, and you can only have one book. Which book do you bring with you and why?
Because of being stranded, I would have to bring a series. So, definitely any one of the Charlaine Harris novel series.
Tell us about your latest release(s) and what’s coming next for you:
I currently have a 9-eBook paranormal/fantasy romance series and am working on the final book (9) of the series. After this series, I have two more that I will be working on, a trilogy (The Eshunna Trilogy) and another two-eBook creation.
With my 9-eBook series, eBooks 1-5 are available online, books 6, 7, and 8 are already written but not available yet, and book 9 is about halfway finished. I am working on the print version of book 1, Beguiled Persuasion, with tentative book signings scheduled for book 1 next year.
The work continues with video production on eBooks 2, 3, 4, and 5 with upload to my website.
