Please tell our readers a bit about yourself in 50 words or less.
I live in South Florida with my husband and two cats (aka our furry overlords), and I’m a book dragon, reading on average over 300 books per year. When I retired, Hubby suggested I start writing instead of just reading all day. Since I have so many ideas bouncing around in my head, it seemed like a great idea.
Do you write full time or part-time?
I’d say full time since I retired, but I still want to read a ridiculous amount, so it probably averages out to part time!
What brought you to FF &P?
I’m a longtime fan of fantasy, paranormal, and sci fi romance. I love the unexpected twists, settings, etc. that can be brought into play. I enjoy both reading and writing it.
What do you hope to get out of FF & P?
Community and classes. The opportunity to share with, and learn from, others of a like mind.
What genres do you write?
Fantasy & paranormal romance, contemporary romance. Maybe Sci-Fi (romance). Even my contemporary romances have some type of magical/paranormal twist to them.
If you’re not published, which route do you plan on taking?
I am leaning I am leaning toward indie publishing, but I’m still considering the options.
Do you have any odd/strange/fascinating rejection stories to share?
No – not at that point yet! I’m about 2/3 through my first manuscript, with a few other stories at varying points of planning.
What is your writing routine like?
I have days where the words flow faster than I can type, and others where nothing happens. I like to visualize scenes in my head, working through the entire scene that way, before typing it out. If I have a particularly difficult scene, I’ll work on it that way each night before I fall asleep until I get through the whole scene.
Name three of your favorite sci-fi or fantasy authors.
Only 3? Nalini Singh (Guild Hunter series), Ilona Andrews (Kate Daniels), R. J. Blain (Magical Romantic Comedies), Lindsay Buroker, K. M. Shea, Anna Carven, Anna Hackett
If you could meet anyone, imaginary or real, in sci-fi or fantasy, who would it be and why?
Oh, this is such a difficult question! There are so many when you incorporate imagination, and assuming I could pick their brains.
You’re stranded on a desert island, and you can only have one book. Which book do you bring with you and why?
This would change by the day. Today, it would be Playing with Fire from R.J. Blain, since I’m in the mood for lighthearted humor. Who doesn’t love a drunk cindercorn? Tomorrow it might be Raphael from D.B. Reynolds, if I’m in a vampire kind of mood.
Tell us about your latest release(s) and what’s coming next for you.
I’m currently 2/3 through a contemporary romance. It’s set in a resort in Florida and is a story about two wounded souls finding themselves and each other. After that, I have several fantasy ideas brewing…
